Sexual Assault Examinations: a Guide for Medical Practitioners

In 1987 I co-authored a book with Dr Margaret Lawson and Dr Pita Stringer, two forensic scientists from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), entitled Sexual Assault Examinations: a Guide for Medical Practitioners.

The book was intended as a guide for doctors performing sexual assault examinations at the request of the New Zealand police, and described both the forensic ad the therapeutic roles of the doctor, and the doctor’s role as an expert witness in court. It was distributed free to all medical practitioners in New Zealand.
